Privacy Policy

This policy explains how the Life Compass 2.0 beta at beta.lifecompass.me handles your information. Life Compass is operated by Benjamin Richter. Questions: benjirichter53@gmail.com. The offline iPhone and iPad app has its own privacy policy.

What we collect

Your account: your name, email address, home time zone and a securely hashed version of your password. We never store your password itself.
What you put in Life Compass: tasks, projects, folders, tags, notes, dates, repeat rules, perspectives, settings, map pins you place and files you attach.
Security and service records: sign-in sessions, a record of each change you make (so edits can't be lost or applied twice), counts used to limit repeated attempts, and a record that an account email was sent. We keep a one-way code in place of your email address in those email records.
Bot protection: the signup and password-reset pages use Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks your browser to tell people from automated programs.

How we use it

We use your information to run your account, keep your data in sync across your devices, send you account emails (your confirmation code, password-reset links and a notice when your password changes), protect the service and answer your support requests. We don't send newsletters or marketing email.

We do not sell your personal information, use it for advertising, or use your content to train AI models.

AI features

New accounts don't use AI. Features such as AI briefings, the Moneypenny voice assistant and email, calendar or recording connections are coming soon. Before any of them is turned on for your account, we will explain what data it uses and ask for your choice. The data connections notice describes those features for accounts that already use them.

Where your data is stored

Life Compass runs on Cloudflare, which stores your data and delivers our account emails on our behalf. Your data is private to your account: only you can see it, unless you ask us to help with a problem. We may look at account information only when you ask for help or when we must protect the service or follow the law.

Keeping and deleting your data

We keep your data while your account is open. You can download a copy of your tasks and settings at any time from Settings → Support and privacy → Your data. To delete your account and its data, email benjirichter53@gmail.com from the address you signed up with. We may ask you to confirm that you own the account. Deleted data may remain in routine backups for a limited time before it is removed.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, download or delete your personal information, or to object to how it is used. Email us to make a request. We respond within the time the law requires.

Security

Life Compass uses HTTPS, hashed passwords, per-account data separation and limits on repeated sign-in attempts. No online service can guarantee perfect security, so please use a strong, unique password and keep your email account secure.

Children

Life Compass is not intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

This is a beta, and this policy will change as Life Compass grows. We'll update the date above, and we'll tell you before any new use of your data begins.
